Nepal

Nepal is a country where the majestic Himalayas meet deep spirituality, diverse culture and hospitable people. This fascinating country attracts both lovers of high-altitude hiking and travellers seeking spiritual experiences or exploring traditional life in mountain villages. Nepal is not just about the peaks of the eight thousanders and the famous trail to Everest. Here we can visit the historic cities of the Kathmandu Valley, the green hills of the Annapurna region, the lush jungles of Chitwan National Park, the deserted mountain areas of Dolpo or the ancient Tibetan kingdom of Mustang. Wherever you go, you’re in for a powerful cultural experience and breathtaking scenery. Nepal’s character makes it suitable for individual travellers and groups alike. We will be happy to arrange a trip here focusing on any of the following programs:

  • sightseeing (discovering cultural sites, cities and traditional life)
  • light hiking (a combination of exploration and shorter trips into the countryside)
  • combined hiking and sightseeing (ideal mix of active travel and cultural experiences)
  • trekking to the majestic eight-thousanders and the foothills of the Himalayas (treks of varying length and difficulty to the most famous and remote mountain areas)
  • sightseeing with outdoor activities (hiking, rafting, canyoning)

Frequently asked questions:

  • What is the best time to visit?
The best time to visit Nepal is from October to mid-May when the weather is dry and sunny with good visibility. For mountain trekking, the months of October-November and March-April are ideal. For rain shadow areas such as Upper Mustang, we can recommend a visit during the summer months, ideally in September.
  • What types of tours to Nepal do you offer?
We offer a wide range of trips to Nepal – from sightseeing tours and leisurely treks to challenging expeditions to the eight-thousanders. We can arrange an easy hiking program, a combined sightseeing and outdoor tour or a pure trekking expedition. We will be happy to customize a program for you – with a local English-speaking guide, a Czech-speaking escort, or as an individual trip with services provided without a guide.
  • What accommodation options are available in India?
The level of accommodation in Nepal varies, with standard 3* to 5* hotel accommodation available in the cities. In remote areas and during the trek, there are several options to choose from: lodges (if available in places), your own tents or tents provided by a local agency. Lodges are dormitories with double rooms that have a bed with a mattress, pillow and blanket. In some heavily visited areas there are also so-called ‘luxury lodges’ which offer showers, hot water, bedding and are heated. The choice of accommodation standard depends on the area and your preference.
  • How do I know which trek is right for me?
It depends on your expectations, time availability and physical condition. If you prefer comfortable lodge facilities, good infrastructure and the varied company of other trekkers, the areas of Annapurna, Langtang or below Everest are ideal. If you’re looking for more tranquility, wilderness and a minimum of tourists, a trek around Manaslu, in the Dolpo, Upper Mustang or Humla area can be a great option. But the best way is to email us your idea – thanks to our years of experience, we’ll recommend a tailor-made route and plan the whole trip from A to Z.
  • Is Nepal suitable for families with children and what programme do you recommend?
Yes, Nepal and neighbouring Bhutan are ideal destinations for families with children who want to explore the Himalayas and experience adventures in nature and culture. In Bhutan you can explore the Buddhist kingdom, with visits to the capital city of Thimphu, Tashichho Fort and Cheri Monastery, or the opportunity to enjoy rafting on the Mo River. In Nepal, kids will enjoy hiking under the eight-thousand-foot Annapurna and scenic Pokhara, game viewing in Chitwan NP, and exploring the UNESCO-listed royal cities of Kathmandu and Bhaktapur. The programmes we offer are suitable for children aged 14 years and above and can be tailored to suit your specific requirements. Easter or autumn holidays are particularly ideal for travel to Nepal, when conditions in the Himalayas are favourable and the weather ideal.
