Tour program:
1.-2. DAY 2-2: PRAGUE-REUNION BY AIR
Upon arrival, transfer to the Salazie Crater and the town of Hell Bourg – trekking centre, interesting Creole architecture; rest, sightseeing, preparation for the trek.
3.-6. DAY 6: TREKKING THROUGH THE INACCESSIBLE MAFATE CRATER
Transfer to the edge of the Mafate crater; descent into the crater, Deux Fesses saddle, Aurère settlement at the foot of the dominant landscape of Piton Cabri, through the impressive Galette river canyon to the heart of Mafate; swimming in the river and hike to Roche Plate, from there past the magnificent Trois Roches waterfall to the highest settlement of Marla; views of the breathtaking peaks of Grand Bénare and Gros Morne.
7. DAY 7: OVER THE CRATER RIM TO THE TOWN OF CILAOS
Ascent to the Col du Taibit, from where beautiful views of the two craters; descent to Cilaos – sightseeing tour, rest at the thermal baths.
8.-9. DAY 7: PITON DES NEIGES PEAK AND “JOURNEY TO PREHISTORY”
Ascent to the highest mountain of the island, Piton des Neiges (3070 m), “journey to prehistory” during the descent through the Bélouve forest in the Salazie crater.
10. DAY 10: THE CIRCLE COMES FULL CIRCLE, THE TROU DE FER WATERFALLS AND AGAIN THE HELL BOURG
Easy to the horseshoe-shaped waterfalls of Trou de Fer, descent to Hell Bourg; transfer to the hotel by the sea.
DAY 11-12: REST BY THE SEA
Centre of seaside life St. Gilles les Bains; swimming in the sea or in the pool, sandy beaches, water sports, botanical garden Jardin d’Eden, Aquarium de la Réunion.
DAY 13: PITON DE LA FOURNAISE ACTIVE VOLCANO
By rental car to the Piton de la Fournaise volcano, descend into the caldera and trek to the rim of the active Dolomieu crater.
DAY 14-15: MAIDO VIEWPOINT, MARKETS IN ST. PAUL, CAPITAL OF ST. DENIS
By rental car to the most famous viewpoint of Maido – stunning views of the Mafate Crater; shopping at the inexhaustible markets of St. Paul; tour of the capital of St. Denis; departure and arrival in Prague.

Difficulty:
You will go on the trek on a “semi-weightless” basis, carrying only your personal belongings, clothes and food at your discretion. The mountain huts are equipped with beds with bedding, no need to take a sleeping bag or a mattress, the nights are warm.
Meals:
It is possible to order half board at the mountain huts. During the route it is possible to buy basic food in small shops.
