For October 2025 we have prepared another amazing trip to the African continent to a country renowned as one of the most luxurious safari destinations called Botswana. Your guide will once again be nature photographer Petr Slavik, whose work has brought him to Africa for twenty years. He has put together a safari to his favourite Khwai, the lions and hyenas famous Savuti and Chobe National Park with the largest population of elephants on the continent. All three places are renowned for their concentration of wildlife. Plus, they’re much easier to find in the high season. There is no tall grass, the bushes are leafless and limited water sources force animals to return to the same places. In fact, the hyena dogs that regularly bring out cubs in Khwai, the large resident lion prides in Savuti that specialise in hunting large herbivores, and the endless herds of elephants travelling daily to the Chobe River for life-giving water are all just waiting for us.
Accommodation will be in a private tented camp (no more tourists), tents with private showers and toilets, great camp cuisine by our amazing chef, open safari vehicles, great African wines and refreshing gin tonics at the end of the day, the wonderful atmosphere of African evenings around the campfire… Simply SAFARI as it should be…
DAY 1: BY AIR FROM PRAGUE TO BOTSWANA
Air from Prague via Doha and Johannesburg to Maun.
2. DAY 2: MAUN
Arrive in the small town of Maun, the gateway to the Okavango Delta and renowned for its friendly atmosphere. Everyone going on or returning from a safari is full of emotion, and it is the restaurants and bars in Maun that are the meeting point for sharing all those amazing wildlife experiences. So after checking in, we head to the newly opened brewery for a welcome and introductory dinner. Okavango Brewery brews several varieties of award-winning beers using the finest ingredients, including mineral waters straight from the Okavango Delta.
DAY 3 – 5: KHWAI AREA
Soon after breakfast, we board open jeeps and head to the northeastern part of the Okavango Delta to the banks of the Khwai River. This area is wedged between Chobe National Park and Moremi Game Reserve and is one of the best animal viewing spots in northern Botswana. The richness of the fauna here is truly amazing. Frequent leopard sightings are typical of the banks of the Khwai River. Apart from these spirits of the African wilderness, the area is full of elephants, hippos, lions, hyenas, antelopes, zebras and very often hyena dogs are seen breeding here. A huge advantage is the possibility of off-road safaris, which are strictly forbidden by the national parks. For animal watching and photography this is a huge advantage.
Accommodation in safari tents in a private camp, morning and afternoon game drives.
DAY 6 – 8: SAVUTI AREA
Morning tea, coffee and up for another safari. Keep your cameras and binoculars at the ready as this time we move right through the African wilderness. From Khwai, we head to Savute. You’d be hard pressed to find a better place in Africa to see big animals. If there’s anywhere Africa can enchant you with its wild splendour, it’s here. An area renowned for its high concentration of predators. Huge prides of lions, often numbering up to three dozen, and numerous clans of their arch enemies – spotted hyenas! Sunsets at limited water sources are full of unexpected encounters. All it takes is a little patience.

DAY 9 – 11: CHOBE NATIONAL PARK
Our final transfer, again by game drive, to the bordering Chobe River in the national park of the same name. During the period for which our safari is scheduled, there is the highest concentration of elephants in all of Africa. Huge herds wander tens of kilometres of bush every day to quench their thirst in the life-giving waters of the Chobe River, which at this time is the only source of water for miles around. With the herds of elephants come hundreds of other animals in search of that rarest of things in the wilderness at this time of year, water. As some of Africa’s most beautiful sunsets are on the Chobe River, we will spend the last day of our African adventure on board the boat. Close to elephants bathing in the river waters, close to hippos and crocodiles, close to unforgettable experiences, close to the African sun.
